Job description

Overview

The position is permanent. The preferred location is Havant, Hampshire, but hybrid working arrangements are also possible.

Responsibilities

• Project management and technical specification, configuration, and support activities for externally manufactured electro/mechanical products, especially related to pump systems for vessels.
• Ensure on-time delivery and correct quality of product manufacture and support data for the above products.
• Monitor projects and record changes.
• Comply with Export Control requirements.
• Demonstrate effective time management and general organisational skills.
• Develop knowledge base of product specification and integration within the wider team.
• Work well within the Engineering and wider WDSL team and mentor junior members of the team.
• As Project Engineer, lead and coordinate engineering projects especially related to marine pump systems.
• Ensure compliance with specific codes and adherence to the Engineering Business Management System (BMS) and the overall company BMS.
• Work closely with the Systems and Design teams to create requirements capture and other relevant project documentation.
• Ensure that changes are recorded according to the BMS.
• Liaise with main project stakeholders, internal and external; delegate tasks to the team and work closely with the Project Manager and Engineering Managers.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary projects (Mechanical / Electrical).
• Maintain compliance with all relevant data control requirements.
• Create reports and presentations as needed; liaise with clients and suppliers.
• Mentor junior staff and work harmoniously with other company functions.
• Note: some travel is required to meet with customers around the world, approximately 10%, with most meetings held virtually.

Qualifications

• Degree BEng (Hons) in Mechanical, Electrical, Naval, Aerospace, or other Engineering or Scientific disciplines (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computing).
• CEng or working towards.
• Working experience in Engineering, especially Mechanical / Electrical.
• Experience with pump systems is desirable.
• Mid - senior level position.
• Must be eligible for SC level clearance.
