Job Posting: Manufacturing Project Engineer
Location: Hellam, PA
New Standard is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Project Engineer to lead the launch of new products for our valued customers. This is an exciting opportunity to manage complex projects, work with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the manufacturing launch of new products for key customers.
- Develop, manage, and track project budgets and timelines.
- Communicate project status to customers, ensuring trust, confidence, and the NSC reputation as a top-tier supplier.
- Provide project updates to internal stakeholders, cross-functional team members, and NSC leadership at each milestone of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
- Proactively identify and resolve project risks, including technical, cost, safety, and timing risks.
- Engineer and implement new manufacturing processes to ensure products meet print specifications consistently.
- Create and maintain engineering data and documents, including drawings, Bills-of-Material, Routings, Standard Rates, Process FMEA, Work Instructions, and Quality Control Plans.
- Collaborate with Tooling Engineers and Designers to design, build, and validate tooling and quality control gauges.
- Lead continuous improvement projects and contribute to the development of new manufacturing technologies or processes.
Job-Specific Competencies:
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, including Laser Cutting, Press Brake, Metal Stamping, MIG and Projection Welding, and Complex Assemblies
- Expertise in Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, CAD sheet metal design, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to solve complex problems and drive process improvement
- Strong relationship-building skills

Experience and Education Required:
- BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- Direct manufacturing experience and proficiency in the skills outlined above
- 5-7 years Project management experience
Working Conditions:
- In-office position with occasional remote work by exception
- Sitting, standing, walking, and climbing stairs required
- Travel up to 20%
