An Active Travel Organization in the Tees Valley is offering part-time roles focused on promoting walking and cycling. The positions involve community engagement, project management, and leading workshops. Ideal candidates will have strong administrative skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a passion for active travel initiatives. You would be working in our Active Travel Hubs in the Tees Valley, which provide helpful services and interventions to make walking, wheeling, and cycling the natural choice for shorter journeys in the Tees Valley. This is an exciting and ambitious project that is part of the UK’s largest network of Active Travel Hubs, working together to transform how Tees Valley residents travel for their everyday journeys.
This role involves working in partnership with local authorities, communities, schools, businesses, volunteers, and third-sector organizations to remove barriers to transport, increase public health and wellbeing, and protect the environment.
Key responsibilities may include:
• Planning, organizing, and delivering behaviour change and engagement projects and events
• Community and stakeholder engagement
• Leading workshops and guided bike rides
• Running Cycle Confidence Sessions
• Conducting risk assessments for safety and wellbeing
• Maintaining project documentation
Candidates should be based within the Tees Valley area. The role involves working at Middlesbrough and Redcar Active Travel Hubs for one position, or Stockton and Redcar for the other.
This role requires travel and work at various locations to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.
You should have strong administrative skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and knowledge of safeguarding principles are essential.
