A large integrated health board in the UK seeks a Professional Lead of the Cardiac Physiology Service. A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, motivated and experienced senior clinical physiologist to join the Cardiothoracic Directorate as Professional Lead of the Cardiac Physiology Service. The Cardiac Physiology Department is a critical service within the Cardiothoracic Directorate and wider health board. The post-holder will play a vital role in leading on the professional development of the Cardiac Physiology Service whilst working closely as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop a sustainable service for the future.
The Professional Head of the Cardiac Physiologist Department will provide strong, visible and professional leadership to the Cardiac Physiology team and provide highly specialist and expert advice for all Professional matters within the University Health Board. This will require working externally with other agencies at a local, regional and national level.
The post-holder will be required to work collaboratively and effectively with senior managers and other senior clinicians within the Specialist Services Clinical Board to contribute to and inform the strategic planning for workforce, training and capital. The post holder will be expected to lead on this for their professional area and develop plans in conjunction with the Directorate Manager.
The post holder will be the professional line manager for all Cardiac Physiologists across the Cardiothoracic Directorate both at the University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough. The post holder will also provide professional supervision of all staff and students within the Cardiac Physiology Department.
The post holder will have clinical governance accountabilities, ensuring safe, efficient and effective care, compatible with professional and national clinical standards.
The post holder will be responsible for managing their own clinical caseload.
