Role

A global manufacturing leader is seeking a Production Planner to join a friendly planning team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping efficient, cost‑effective planning strategies across a broad range of on‑site manufactured products. You will be the driving force behind seamless operations, ensuring customer delivery targets are met, production stays on schedule, and planning documentation is delivered with precision and timeliness. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact within a collaborative environment where your expertise directly supports operational success and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Increase Planning’s use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with a targeted approach using both company internal knowledge base and external forums.
  • Seek opportunities for improvements in Planning and Production efficiency with specific emphasis on use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Ensure production plans, work to lists and shop floor paperwork are correct and available in a timely manner to maximise performance and minimise delays.
  • Monitor production progress to ensure it is following the agreed schedule, advise the production management team of any deviations and contribute to possible corrective actions.
  • Address issues as they arise, aiming for minimum disruption to the delivery date requested by the Customer.
  • Work cross‑functionally with other departments to ensure collaborative working that increases production adherence to plans, productivity and on time delivery.
  • Prepare data‑driven analytical reports about production processes.
  • Identify issues and contribute to potential resolutions.
  • Assist the Senior Production Planner to analyse trends and forecasts to inform and improve the planning process.
  • Provide cover to other colleagues as required due to absences and provide training/knowledge share to less experienced team members.
Candidate
  • Proven experience in a production planning role within manufacturing.
  • Hands‑on experience using ERP systems.
  • Skilled in identifying and resolving planning‑related production issues.
  • Knowledge or experience within a small‑batch manufacturing environment is useful.
  • Experience implementing a system (ERP or CRM) would be useful.
  • Strong track record of cross‑functional collaboration, particularly with Customer Services and Operations teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
  • Familiarity with IFS ERP system is highly desirable.
  • Excellent command of Business English, both written and verbal.
