Overview

Job Purpose: To operate several different engineering manufacturing machines in our production department and to provide general operational support.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and check materials for production.
  • Set machines in accordance with requirements.
  • Operate a range of engineering manufacturing machinery.
  • Check and ensure the quality of product is to standard.
  • Complete records and documentation as required.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards.
  • Report any concerns to the Team Leader.
  • Ensure an effective handover to following shifts where appropriate.
  • Work flexibly as part of the manufacturing team and support other team members as required.
  • In all activities, comply with quality, health & safety and environmental rules and policies.

As a term of your employment, you may be required to undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required of you in the post and department mentioned above or in a comparable post in any of the Company’s other departments.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of GCSE level education at C grade in English, Maths, and Science.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience of milling, turning or any other engineering machinery operation.
  • The ability to use measuring equipment such as vernier calipers and micrometers.
  • Experience of producing a detailed quality product.
  • The ability to meet high standards on a consistent basis.
  • A self-motivated and focused attitude.
  • The ability to work flexibly within the team and to support team members.
  • The ability to read and accurately interpret engineering drawings.

Working hours: Double Days (1-week earlies, 1-week lates).

Hourly Rate: Starting from £12.77 (based on skill set and experience).

Temporary to permanent position.
