Production Manager

Location: Ponteland

Salary: Circa £45,000

Job Type: Full-time

Our client is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee and optimise manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and execute production schedules to meet customer delivery targets (OTIF).
  • Ensure manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently in line with KPIs.
  • Lead daily production meetings, track actions, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Drive continuous improvement and implement best practices across operations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Maintain strict compliance with Health & Safety procedures.
  • Manage team performance through regular 1 : 1s, training, and development.
  • Oversee housekeeping standards and ensure workplace organisation.
  • Collaborate with HR on disciplinary matters and performance management.
  • Ensure staff have the right tools, training, and resources to succeed.

Team:

Managing a team of approximately 30 operatives and panel assemblers, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and efficiency standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in production and planning management.
  • Strong background in manufacturing, assembly, and warehousing (electrical industry preferred).
  • Knowledge of electrical panel wiring and assembly processes.
  • Proven ability to analyse data and drive performance improvements.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing teams.
  • Continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing expertise.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
