We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Dispensary Manager to join our team at HealthNet , where you will play a vital role in leading and motivating our dispensary function to deliver exceptional patient care and service.

About the Role

As an Assistant Dispensary Manager, you will support the daily management of the dispensary, ensuring the team meets agreed service levels while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will be responsible for staff development, training, and performance management, as well as helping to drive continuous improvement across the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead the dispensary to achieve and maintain service level targets.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop team members to deliver exceptional service.
  • Conduct regular appraisals, training needs analysis, and succession planning.
  • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and address underperformance.
  • Oversee compliance with training, HR, and security procedures.
  • Plan staff breaks, holidays, and training to ensure adequate cover.
  • Investigate and respond to complaints in a professional manner.
  • Produce and analyse reports to support business improvements.
  • Act as key holder, supporting site opening / closing.
  • Ensure prescriptions are processed, dispensed, and dispatched in line with SOPs and quality standards.
  • Lead on workflow management, including stock selection, order dispatch, and automated dispensing supervision.
About You

We're looking for someone who brings both pharmacy knowledge and strong people leadership skills. You'll be proactive, resilient, and able to motivate a team while keeping a sharp focus on KPIs and compliance.

Experience & Skills :
  • Minimum 12 months in a pharmacy environment at supervisory level.
  • NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Technician qualification (or equivalent) - desirable.
  • Proven track record of achieving activity targets.
  • Knowledge of quality management standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong IT literacy.
