The Role

As a Production Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of our Repair and Overhaul operations within Mission Systems—supporting the build and restoration of cutting-edge defence technologies. Your work will directly contribute to the future of submarine capability, helping to protect national interests and communities.   • Act as the process owner for a range of repairs, from simple to highly complex.
  • Provide technical expertise in developing and supporting repair/test methods for mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic assemblies.
  • Maintain product support throughout its lifecycle, liaising with project, procurement, and engineering teams
  • Support repair estimations and ensure processes are technician friendly.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 4 days onsite and 1 day working from home.

Essential Experience of the Production Engineer

  • Proven experience in repair, hydraulic, and pneumatic processes.
  • Ability to solve complex manufacturing problems independently and collaboratively.
  • Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and load testing procedures.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and within a team.

Qualifications for the Production Engineer

  • City & Guilds, BTEC, or HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline—or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., IFS/SAP), NDT processes, and a background in manufacturing engineering.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. However, the successful candidate will be eligible to start on Standard (BPSS) security clearance, but will need to obtain Security Check (SC) security clearance once in post.
