Job description

A leading supplier of licensed children's products is looking to appoint a Quality Manager / Product Technologist / Product Compliance Specialist to lead product compliance, safety, and quality across its fun and fast-growing drinkware and feeding ranges.

Based in Greater London, this role will report directly to the Managing Director and play a key part in upholding the company's high standards across UK and EU markets. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge across food contact plastics, printing, and textiles, and experience working with Far East suppliers across manufacturing and distribution.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring all products meet UK and EU compliance standards including REACH, FCM, EN71, and relevant food contact and safety regulations
  • Overseeing safety, quality, and ethical compliance throughout the product lifecycle
  • Collaborating closely with design to advise on risk and compliance from concept stage
  • Reviewing artwork and packaging to ensure correct and compliant labelling
  • Managing inspection criteria across global factory base and harmonising QA standards
  • Leading risk assessments, testing schedules, and maintenance of full technical documentation
  • Monitoring product performance in the market and implementing timely quality improvements
  • Maintaining the company quality manual and supporting technical and ethical audits
  • Managing complaint analysis systems to support ongoing product and process improvements
Person specification:
  • Strong knowledge of UK and EU safety and labelling regulations; global compliance understanding is a plus
  • Experience working with food contact plastics and/or childcare products
  • Practical, hands‑on approach with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with the ability to advise cross‑functionally and influence at all levels
  • Calm, organised, and solutions‑focused in a fast‑paced environment
