Job summary

A leading manufacturer of high performance adhesives is seeking a Development Chemist in Alfreton on a full-time, permanent basis. The role involves developing and improving adhesive products, supporting product transfers to production, and investigating complaints. Candidates should possess a degree in chemistry and experience in a manufacturing environment. UK work entitlement is essential.

Qualifications

  • Education to Degree level or above in chemistry (or equivalent).
  • Some experience of working in a manufacturing business involved with 2 component polymer chemistry.
  • Experience of working in a commercial laboratory including a range of testing techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Complete allocated product development tasks and projects to agreed timetable.
  • Work to a weekly laboratory work plan for the product portfolio.
  • Support Production with the transfer of products from laboratory to production.
  • Investigate customer and supplier complaints with Senior Chemists.
  • Compile and interpret data for project reports.

CK Group are recruiting for a Development Chemist to join a leading manufacturer of high performance adhesives to be based in Alfreton, on a full time, permanent basis.

Development Chemist Role:
As a Development Chemist you will contribute to the development and improvement of a portfolio of products.

Responsibilities:

  • To complete allocated product development tasks and projects to agreed timetable
  • To work to a weekly laboratory work plan for the product portfolio.
  • To support Production with the transfer of a new product or a modified existing product from laboratory to production
  • To support the Senior Product Development Chemists and Quality Manager with the investigation of customer and supplier complaints
  • To gather, compile and interpret data in order to contribute to project reports


Your Background:

  • Education to Degree level or above in chemistry (or equivalent)
  • Some experience of working in a manufacturing business involved with 2 component polymer chemistry.
  • Experience of working in a commercial laboratory including a range of testing techniques.
