Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Procurement Specialist for a full-time role in Derby. Our client is the global leader in their field and support some of the worlds biggest companies with precision services they operate across 30 countries employing 6000 people with a growth rate of 20% year on year.

Due to growth they now require a Procurement Specialist to join on a permanent basis in Derby.

Responsible for
  • Process purchase requisitions.
  • Identifying new suppliers managing purchasing contracts and suppliers.
  • Purchasing equipment consumables and controlling overhead cost.
  • Assisting with negotiating prices.
  • Reporting on vendor spend.Build relationships with new and existing suppliers.
  • Input information into the management system for analysis and reporting.
  • Dealing with client and supplier queries.
Experience required
  • Technical purchasing experience with the ability to assimilate technical information.
  • Excellent understanding of purchasing practices export control and managing suppliers.
  • A proven track record in developing a good working relationship with suppliers.
  • Preferred MCIPS qualification or working towards.
  • The ability to work independently and part of a Team.
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
  • Experience of working with minimum supervision in a busy and demanding environment.
  • Proven organisational skills and able to perform multi tasks efficiently and in line with specific timelines.
