Private Client Solicitor

A well-established law firm based in Woodford (E18) is seeking a Private Client Solicitor to join its growing team. This is a full‑time position, with salary dependent on experience.

The successful candidate will have solid experience in private client matters, including estate administration for both probate and intestacy, applications for grants of representation, inheritance tax returns, Will drafting, and drafting of lasting powers of attorney (both property & financial affairs and health & welfare). Experience with Court of Protection deputyship matters is also required.

This is a client‑facing role, requiring confidence, professionalism, discretion, and sensitivity when dealing with clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising clients on a wide range of private client matters, including wills, trusts, and estate administration
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents in compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Managing probate and intestacy matters from instruction through to completion
  • Conducting negotiations on behalf of clients where required
  • Managing a varied caseload efficiently while maintaining high standards of client care
  • Liaising with third parties such as financial institutions, HMRC, and other solicitors
  • Providing advice on tax implications and estate planning strategies
  • Keeping up to date with legislative changes affecting private client work and implementing best practice
