A leading infrastructure engineering firm in Manchester is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer. This role offers a hybrid work model, requiring three days on-site each week. Ideal candidates will have substantial experience in structural design and will support and develop a team while ensuring high-quality design deliverables. The position is open for both contract and permanent employment, up to £480 per day or £75K per annum.

Qualifications

  • 10 years' structural design experience at senior or principal engineering level.
  • Experience in regulated water and/or rail industries.
  • Awareness of construction methods and materials.

Overview

Principal Structural Engineer. Manchester - Hybrid (3 days in a week on-site). Open for both Contract & Perm. Contract - up to £480 per day OUTSIDE IR35. Perm - up to £75K per annum.

Principal Structural Engineer is required for a leading infrastructure design and engineering firm specialising in rail electrification, civil works, and water sector solutions, delivering projects from concept through detailed design. They provide excellence in both design & build, working in operational networks and constrained environments.

Responsibilities
  • You will ensure the design team produces design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements along with providing key technical guidance for projects and tenders and ensure continuous improvement of technical standards.
  • You will also be responsible for directing and developing engineers, CAD technicians and graduates.
Qualifications
  • Chartered engineer.
  • 10 years\' structural design experience at senior or principal engineering level.
  • Experience in regulated water and/or rail industries.
  • Awareness of construction methods and materials.
