WRc is looking for a Principal Consultant who is passionate about developing digital and data driven solutions to challenging environmental and engineering issues. This is a full-time (37 hours) hybrid role, based at our office in Hattersley, Manchester. The successful candidate will support the Technical Director and wider team across a programme of multidisciplinary projects, ensuring that a team of creative modellers, software and data engineers deliver high-quality outputs, products and technical insights. You'll be an integral part a supportive community of digital professionals who work across a wide range of projects-both client-facing and internal. - Manage and oversee projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that they meet client needs, regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Identify, assess and mitigate risks associated with projects.
- Develop and manage project budgets and resources efficiently. Develop comprehensive product roadmaps in line with WRc's strategic goals.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs, constraints and objectives.
- Provide clients with strategic recommendations based on technical analyses and assessments.
- Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and delivery of high-quality services.
- Foster an innovative environment to drive the development of industry-leading SaaS products.
- Define key performance metrics and monitor product performance post-launch to inform future product development strategies.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to the product development team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Support the Technical Director in the creation of a customer success team in charge of customer onboarding, support and retention.
An advanced degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or a related scientific field. - Proven experience in water-related projects.
- Certifications and licences such as Professional Engineer (PE) may be required or preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of water treatment processes, water quality, hydraulic modelling and related technologies.
- Ability to develop solutions for complex water-related problems, such as water scarcity, contamination and infrastructure degradation.
- Propose and implement innovative solutions and technologies for improving water management and treatment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in the use of water modelling and analysis software.
- Ability to work in a team and lead projects.
