Job Title: Principal Civil Engineer

Location: Based near Dunfermline

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a trusted, well-established Multidisciplinary Consultancy as they expand their UK-wide reach, renowned for their expertise across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering landscapes. They are actively seeking a driven, experienced Principal Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, willing to take on a variety of challenging projects and leading a newly-established team, based near the ancient, vibrant city of Dunfermline.

Responsibilities
  • Managing the design of a wide array of engineering developments
  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of projects, including financing, resourcing, scheduling, and delivering
  • Mentoring and training colleagues throughout their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) within the company
  • Managing and supporting clientele and other stakeholders, across the public and private sectors
  • Preparing, checking, and submitting technical reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, method statements, and other necessary documents
  • Adhering to and enforcing company policies, procedures, and best practice, upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
  • Contributing to the company's business development and growth, acting as a representative at client meetings, site visits, etc.
Required Skills and Experience
  • A Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering
  • Hold Chartered Status
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a design capacity, within a UK consultancy setting
  • Extensive experience of working with infrastructure (drainage and highways), housing developments, and/or energy projects
  • Experience of earthworks and drainage network modelling
  • Highly proficient in the use of various software packages, to include Civils 3D, InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, and similar
  • Demonstrable experience of writing, correcting, and amending a variety of reports
  • Experience of managing projects and people
  • Considerable experience of managing client and stakeholder relations
  • Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
  • Some experience of preparing Transport Assessments
  • Experience of working in a public-facing role
