Primary SEMH Teacher – Behaviour and Emotional Support

Location: South Shields
Pay: £120–£220 per day
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing
Start Date: As soon as possible

We are recruiting a Primary SEMH Teacher to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in a structured primary setting.

This role supports children who may struggle with emotional regulation, behaviour or engagement with learning and require consistent, understanding teaching approaches.

You will deliver adapted lessons while supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and behaviour development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Teaching primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs
  • Planning structured, engaging lessons
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Working closely with pastoral and SEN teams
  • Creating a safe and predictable learning environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
