The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant working through Academics, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs.
  • Adapt learning materials and approaches to suit individual pupil needs.
  • Assist in promoting independence, confidence, and social skills.
  • Support the class teacher in maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help manage behaviour in a supportive and consistent manner.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
About You

To be considered for this SEN Teaching Assistant position, you should have:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN (preferred but not essential).
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive attitude and genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
  • A Level 2/3 qualification in Education or equivalent (preferred but not essential).
