Job Summary

We are looking to recruit a new practice nurse (part time – 24 hrs per week across three days) to join our friendly nursing team within a busy GP surgery in Milton Keynes. You will be expected to carry out all practice nurse's duties such as asthma, wound care, ECGs, blood tests, blood pressure monitoring, vaccinations, and more for our patients.

About Us

We are based at Netherfield in Milton Keynes with a team of three friendly nurses. We aim to improve the quality of life of our community by taking care of their health needs. The role will also involve working as part of our PCN when required.

Job Description

• Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate programmes to promote health and well‑being and prevent adverse effects on health.
• Implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for patients with known long‑term conditions.
• Assess and care for patients presenting with uncomplicated wounds.
• Manage the respiratory clinic.
• Undertake relevant training to support and advise women requesting information relating to family planning needs.
• Undertake relevant training to support and manage the health needs of women presenting for cervical cytology consultations.
• Under the direction of experienced practice nurses, implement and participate in vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and children.
• Advise, support and where appropriate, administer vaccinations for patients travelling abroad.

Person Specification

Experience (Essential)

• General nursing experience in a GP setting.
• Experience in a respiratory clinic.
