Overview

An opportunity has arisen to join our friendly rural practice as a Practice Nurse. You will be part of a well-respected, supportive practice that prides itself on providing high quality care for its patients.

Main duties

The main duties will include:

  • Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by GPs
  • Organise and co-ordinate the provision of nursing services for the practice, to include the delegation of duties to other practice nursing staff as appropriate
  • Cytology
  • Removal of Sutures
  • Travel Clinic
  • ECGs
  • Asthma/Peak Flow Readings
  • Venepuncture
  • Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations
  • Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
  • Family planning
  • Chronic disease management, particularly Diabetes and Coronary Heart Disease
  • Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to GPs as appropriate
