Overview

Post Issue Portfolio Manager (PMD) responsible for the UKEF civil and defence transaction portfolio (excluding short‑term products) for a team of three G7 managers. The role requires negotiation, recommendation, and presentation to senior stakeholders, support to the Head of PIM, and ensuring timely case turnaround.

Responsibilities
  • Manage at least one SEO as a direct report and lead the performance management and training of team members.
  • Negotiate, advocate, and represent UKEF with borrowers, banks, external lawyers, and ECAs worldwide, including presentation to the Enterprise Risk & Credit Committee as needed.
  • Analyse complex issues arising from waivers, amendments, or approvals, produce detailed recommendations for senior decision makers, and obtain relevant legal and policy advice.
  • Monitor UK content, prepare internal case documents, and liaise with Credit Risk, E&S, Legal, and Compliance.
  • Undertake anti‑bribery and corruption due diligence in accordance with UKEF procedure, and liaise with external stakeholders.
  • Prioritise outstanding cases to ensure timely turnaround times of requests and maintain related internal documents.
  • Support the Head of PIM and Deputy Director, deputise as needed, and ensure performance management and training/development of team members.
Qualifications
  • Graduate level qualification in finance or significant relevant professional experience.
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written) sufficient to make recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder management, both internal and external.
  • Relevant ECA, commercial, banking or financial institution experience.
  • Strong analytical ability to review complex, financial, legal and policy issues.
  • Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with legal teams on contractual renegotiation, documentation and implementation.
  • Leadership and line management experience.
  • Good working knowledge of loan documentation and UKEF product use.
  • Proficient attention to detail.
