Job summary

A premier service provider in Cardiff is looking for a Cleaning Operative to maintain cleanliness and support facilities. You will be responsible for general cleaning, room set-ups, and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is a team player with a commitment to health and safety. Competitive pay of £12.21 per hour for 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Job Description

Join our friendly team at HMRC Cardiff and play a key part in keeping our building running smoothly and welcoming for everyone. You’ll support with cleaning, room set-ups, visitor service, and catering — helping us deliver an excellent experience every day.

What You\'ll Do
  • Carry out cleaning tasks to the standards set in the Service Level Agreement (SLA), including daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual tasks.
  • Ensure rooms and function areas are correctly set up, refreshed, and broken down according to schedules.
  • Conduct regular checks on rooms and facilities, reporting any faults or hazards promptly.
  • Replenish coffee stations and maintain stock levels for refreshments.
  • Keep cleaning stores organised, ensuring all equipment is stored safely and correctly.
  • Maintain excellent personal hygiene and wear the correct uniform and PPE at all times.
  • Support with catering duties, including kitchen cleanliness and service delivery.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, dealing with enquiries and resolving issues quickly.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and improve service delivery.
  • Support with furniture movement, store deliveries, and general site logistics when required.
  • Adhere to all site security and safety procedures.
  • Complete any required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Secure all working areas at the end of each shift.

  • Willingness to work flexibly to cover holidays and sickness when needed.

Desirable:

  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Previous experience in cleaning, facilities, or hospitality (training will be provided).
