Job Title: Plating Technician I 4th Shift

Location: Lincoln, NH.

JOB SUMMARY
  • Responsible for: Operates assigned equipment used in executing metal finishing operations by performing the following duties.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Loads and unloads tote pans of parts, stacks parts in baskets, racks and/or barrels, racks, unracks, cleans, etches, desmuts, pickles, brightdips dyes, degreases, heat treats, plates, coats, wet processes, and dries parts. Uses electric hoists and manual lifting.
  • Following prescribed procedures for processing.
  • Fills baskets, racks, and/or barrels with parts to be processed and lowers material into the appropriate tank.
  • Remove parts when the process is completed.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of tanks and work areas.
  • Monitors the temperature of solutions.
  • Maintains daily production logs.
  • Physically inspects processing to ensure the quality of the product.
  • May be required to perform general utility work, material handling, assist with chemical handling and solution maintenance, and record keeping as needed.
  • May be asked to troubleshoot simple to moderate problems.
  • Is responsible for the quality of the product produced.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience
  • High school or general education degree (GED); or equivalent months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities
  • Must have a basic understanding of chemistry as it applies to the job, and the ability to solve problems.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and reach with hands and arms regularly.
  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls frequently.
  • Walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear occasionally.
  • Lift and/or move up to 30 pounds regularly.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required.

The contractors are required to wear steel or composite toe safety shoes and long sleeves.
