A leading automation firm in Cambridge is seeking a Platform Engineer to design and maintain the server infrastructure for a cell-therapy automation factory. The role emphasizes collaboration with software engineers, focusing on automating tasks and managing on-prem resources within a DevOpsSec mindset. Candidates should have experience with server deployment, automation tools, and CI/CD pipelines. Employee benefits include an annual bonus, generous leave, and private medical insurance.
Cell therapies have been shown to cure devastating and previously untreatable diseases like cancer by re-programming the patient\'s own immune system. Giving more patients access to these life-saving therapies requires a revolution in manufacturing and process automation.
Cellular Origins, a TTP Company, is enabling scalable, cost-effective and efficient manufacture of cell and gene therapies. Our technology addresses the challenges associated with manufacturing at scale with an elegant robotic manufacturing automation solution that reduces cost and labour, eliminates human error, and increases efficiency.
As a Platform Engineer at Cellular Origins, you\'ll work alongside Senior Engineers to design, build, and maintain the network and on-prem server infrastructure that powers our cell-therapy automation factory services. Partnering closely with our software-engineering teams, you\'ll help automate build tasks, create self-service environments, and promote smooth collaboration between dev and ops. In this role, you\'ll contribute to maintaining and extending the factory architecture—from rack-level physical layout through to servers, switching, firewalls, and storage fabrics. You\'ll assist with managing our on-prem hypervisors, IaaS/PaaS layers, and containerised workloads, gaining exposure to the full stack that supports our production systems.
Working within a DevOpsSec mindset, you\'ll help craft secure, repeatable deployment patterns for both the factory environment and our internal CI/CD infrastructure. This role offers a chance to broaden your skills by collaborating with electronics, robotics, and systems-engineering teams as we scale our automation platform.
