Job description
Company Description

Cell therapies have been shown to cure devastating and previously untreatable diseases like cancer by re-programming the patient\'s own immune system. Giving more patients access to these life-saving therapies requires a revolution in manufacturing and process automation.

Cellular Origins, a TTP Company, is enabling scalable, cost-effective and efficient manufacture of cell and gene therapies. Our technology addresses the challenges associated with manufacturing at scale with an elegant robotic manufacturing automation solution that reduces cost and labour, eliminates human error, and increases efficiency.

Job Description

As a Platform Engineer at Cellular Origins, you\'ll work alongside Senior Engineers to design, build, and maintain the network and on-prem server infrastructure that powers our cell-therapy automation factory services. Partnering closely with our software-engineering teams, you\'ll help automate build tasks, create self-service environments, and promote smooth collaboration between dev and ops. In this role, you\'ll contribute to maintaining and extending the factory architecture—from rack-level physical layout through to servers, switching, firewalls, and storage fabrics. You\'ll assist with managing our on-prem hypervisors, IaaS/PaaS layers, and containerised workloads, gaining exposure to the full stack that supports our production systems.

Working within a DevOpsSec mindset, you\'ll help craft secure, repeatable deployment patterns for both the factory environment and our internal CI/CD infrastructure. This role offers a chance to broaden your skills by collaborating with electronics, robotics, and systems-engineering teams as we scale our automation platform.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Practical experience deploying and maintaining servers, storage, and basic cloud resources (AWS or Azure) in either on-prem or cloud environments.
  • Working knowledge of automation tools and scripting for infrastructure management (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Python, Bash).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines—comfortable creating or modifying jobs in Git-based tools such as CircleCI or Jenkins.
  • Foundational security awareness (e.g., handling secrets, following hardening checklists, basic PKI/certificate use).
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with developers and other stakeholders.
  • You have practical experience deploying infrastructure that enables dependable software delivery to cloud and on-prem environments, and you enjoy learning new technologies while working closely with teammates.
  • This role will be a full time on-site position at our campus in Melbourn.

Desirable

  • Exposure to on-prem hypervisors and virtualised container platforms (Proxmox, ESXi, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Basic networking fundamentals (DHCP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls).
  • Interest in robotics, electronics, or industrial automation systems.
  • Familiarity with DevOpsSec principles and security considerations for regulated manufacturing environments.
