A health service organization is seeking a Physiotherapy Services Manager in the Western Isles of Scotland. The successful candidate will lead a team comprising physiotherapists, support workers, and assistants, driving the delivery of high-quality health services. Band 8B £74,003 - £79,164 Per annum
Plus £1,406 Distant Islands Allowance per annum
37 Hours per Week (36 from April 2026 in line with Agenda for Change Reduced Working Week)

We are looking for a dynamic experienced therapist to lead and manage our Service. The team consists of Physiotherapists, First Contact Practitioners, Support workers, Rehabilitation Assistants and Administrative Support and provides a comprehensive service to the population of the beautiful Western Isles of Scotland. The post holder will be responsible for carrying a specialist caseload and will have significant skills and depth of experience to influence decision making and the direction of the Service. A key feature of the post will be the ability to excel at leading and developing the various clinical specialisms within the Service and engaging in partnership working. The postholder will operate within a context of providing clinical expertise, advice and guidance in collaboration with a range of stakeholders. The post is based in the Western Isles Hospital and the service operates across a range of health and community locations across the Western Isles.
The post holder will have access to training on and off the island or via video conference.
Known as Scotland’s Atlantic Islands, the Western Isles are steeped in history and culture, with stunning landscapes, spectacular coastlines, a strong sense of community and identity, and renowned Hebridean hospitality. For those with young families, the Western Isles also offer a safe place to live, a high-quality education system, with low levels of crime. There are daily travel connections to the mainland via air and ferry. As a resident of the Western Isles, the successful candidate will be eligible to hold an Air Discount Scheme (ADS) card (this is a Scottish Government initiative aimed to make air travel more affordable for remote communities in the islands). A car driver is required for this post due to the spread of locations across the islands.
