A major healthcare provider in Scotland is seeking a Band 6 physiotherapist for the Critical Care and Surgical team. This full-time permanent role requires a Diploma/Degree in physiotherapy and prior experience in critical care or surgical settings. Key responsibilities include patient assessment, managing a diverse caseload, and staff leadership. The position involves weekend work and participation in on-call services, with a commitment to developing through CPD and team service improvements.

The shift pattern for this post is: Five out of seven days including weekend working.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 physiotherapist to join the Critical Care and Surgical team on a full time permanent basis.
Education and registration: It is essential that you are educated to Diploma/Degree level in physiotherapy and are registered with HCPC.
Experience: You should have significant post-graduate experience with previous clinical experience in Critical Care and/or Surgical wards.
This post involves a complex and varied caseload including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge planning. You will be clinically responsible for rotational staff, support worker staff and students, inducting, training and managing staff on a daily basis. You will lead in service development and service change within the team. You will be actively encouraged to develop through your 4 pillars of practice while participating in CPD, audit and research.
You will be required to participate in the physiotherapy emergency on call and weekend rota.
This post requires the post holder to participate in seven day working/extended hours working.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
