Job description
Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Physiotherapist to join our dedicated therapy team within the West Kent community hospitals. Based primarily at Tonbridge Cottage Hospital, which delivers care across the NOF pathway, frailty, and a range of orthopaedic and medical conditions. You may also provide cover at our Hawkhurst and Tenterden sites when required.

Working alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists and therapy assistants, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality, person‑centred rehabilitation to inpatients with diverse needs. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with local partners to enhance patient care, contribute to safe and timely discharges, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a friendly, multi‑disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality, person‑centred rehabilitation to inpatients across the hospital sites.
  • Collaborate with physiotherapists, occupational therapists and therapy assistants to plan and provide effective treatment.
  • Support safe and timely discharges by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide cover at Hawkhurst and Tenterden sites as required and travel between sites promptly.
  • Assist and mentor junior colleagues and therapy assistants.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share best practice.
Qualifications
  • HCPC registered with relevant post‑graduate experience.
  • Good IT, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent clinical competence, flexibility and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom; sponsorship is not available.
  • Availability to work weekends and to travel between sites.

At this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB).
