An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and passionate Physics Teacher to join a well-established independent school in the heart of Welwyn Garden City. We are seeking a dynamic educator who can inspire students and deliver high-quality Physics teaching across Key Stages 3 to 5.

Role Overview

As a Physics Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons to students, supporting their academic development, and preparing them for both public exams and future studies in the sciences. You will have the opportunity to teach a range of abilities, providing a stimulating learning experience in line with the school's high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Physics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering lessons that are both challenging and engaging
  • Plan and prepare effective lessons, utilising a range of teaching strategies and resources to meet students' individual learning needs
  • Foster a passion for Physics, encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific enquiry
  • Support and guide students in preparation for GCSE and A-Level exams
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment, promoting student well-being and engagement
  • Monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support where necessary
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities, including science clubs or revision sessions, to further support student development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the department's continued success and to share best practices
Ideal Candidate
  • A qualified teacher with a degree in Physics (or a closely related field)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Physics curriculum, with experience teaching at GCSE and A-Level
