Overview

TXP are currently seeking a professional and experienced Field Service Engineer specialising in Multi-Functional Devices (MFDs) and photocopiers to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position supporting our expanding customer portfolio throughout Southern England. The role is ideal for individuals who take pride in delivering high standards of service and enjoy working collaboratively within a committed and quality-driven team.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of a broad range of printing technologies, including:
  • Multi-Functional Devices (MFDs) from various manufacturers
  • Thermal Barcode Printers
  • Wide Format Printers
  • Light Production Printers
  • Basic networking support (e.g., scan-to-folder/email configuration, device connectivity)
  • Providing technical advice and on-site troubleshooting for clients and colleagues
  • Supporting team members and sharing technical expertise
  • Completing accurate service records and job reports
  • Participating in ongoing professional development through manufacturer and internal training
  • Pre-Sales & Commercial Development Opportunity — This role includes a valuable pre-sales element, allowing engineers to identify and recommend upgrade or replacement solutions during service visits. For the right candidate, this presents a clear pathway into a more commercially focused role, combining technical expertise with consultative sales. It is particularly suited to engineers with strong customer-facing experience who are looking to transition into technical sales or hybrid roles.
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience maintaining and repairing MFDs and related print hardware
  • Familiarity with thermal and wide-format printing equipment (training available)
  • Strong IT and networking skills relevant to print environments (TCP/IP, SMB, scan-to-email/folder, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and well-organised, with the ability to manage workload independently
  • Professional and courteous when dealing with clients on-site
  • Full UK driving licence is essential
