Overview

As part of our Pharmacy Technician team you will contribute to the dispensary and clinical service, undertake medicines reconciliation, checking of patients own medicines for reuse, counsel patients, undertake audit work, complete final accuracy check of prescriptions and support training of pharmacy staff including line management of trainee Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Assistants. The Pharmacy Department provides a service to a wide range of patients with diverse needs across a range of specialities. You will be a valued member of the team within the clinical and dispensary services and in return will receive training and support to facilitate career development.

Training and Development

We are offering a comprehensive training package which will develop your skills for you to progress from a Band 4 to 5 Pharmacy Technician. If, upon completion of the training provided, you are able to demonstrate the required competencies you will progress into a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician position.

Key Qualifications and Attributes
  • Medicines Optimisation accredited
  • Accuracy Checking accredited
  • Willing to undertake additional training to support pharmacy trainees as Educational Supervisor, Expert Witness and/or Practice Supervisor
  • Act as a Line Manager for trainee Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Assistants.
