Job description
Overview

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust celebrates diversity and promotes equal opportunities; we are committed to challenging and eliminating racism and other forms of discrimination and advancing and promoting equality of opportunity in the provision of services and creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We believe that everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect. We take positive action to support disadvantaged groups and also particularly encourage applications from ethnically diverse, disabled and LGBTQIA+ people that are under-represented in our workforce. We welcome applications from reservists and ex-armed forces personnel as we recognise the benefits of the values, skills, training and experience that they bring to their work with us. We encourage all applicants to share their equality information with us.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Support Worker (Higher Level) to join our Medicines Management Replenishment and Clinical Support Team. This is an exciting time to join Mersey Care as we prepare to implement near-patient pharmacy satellite services across selected sites. You will play a key role in supporting wards and clinics across the Trust, ensuring the safe, timely, and effective supply of medicines to service users.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the seven-day medicines supply service.
  • Replenish and manage stock levels in wards, clinics, and departments across the Trust's geographical footprint.
  • Dispense and supply medicines.
  • Contribute to audits and the safe use of automated dispensing systems.
  • Work flexibly across secure and non-secure sites, supporting the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care.

This role involves travel across multiple sites, including secure environments. You will require access to your own vehicle and be expected to work flexibly to support the needs of the service, including participation in rotas and weekend working.

Qualifications
  • NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services
  • Experience and knowledge of pharmacy procedures
  • Excellent communication and IT skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach
