Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our Pharmacy department at The London Clinic in Central London. The role offers a competitive salary and an environment that values contribution and personalised care.
Responsibilities
- Development, coordination and management of the pharmacy quality management system (PQS) of the Pharmacy Aseptic Services Unit (ASU) in line with professional and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Deputy Chief Pharmacist – Cancer Services, Senior Pharmacists, technical leads and external contractors to develop and maintain aseptic service provision and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) for unlicensed activity.
- Provide technical support and advice on medicines quality and QA matters to all areas of Pharmacy and key stakeholders.
- Assist the management of the Pharmacy Department Medicines Wholesale Dealing Service with the Responsible Person (RP) in accordance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) for licensed activity.
- Maintain key multidisciplinary relationships across the organisation.
- Participate in working groups and governance committees pertinent to safe medicine delivery.
Key Duties – Quality Assurance
- Lead and maintain QA systems for GMP activities under the Medicines Act 1968 Section 10 and GDP activities under the MHRA WDA(H) licence.
- Ensure efficient day‑to‑day running of the aseptic services unit using appropriate resources.
- Organise technical staffing resources to prioritise workload and maintain GMP.
- Develop systems to ensure compliance with guidelines surrounding the use of cytotoxic and other systemic anti‑cancer therapy.
- Develop and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Prepare for external audits of current Good Manufacturing Practice compliance.
- Investigate and respond to out‑of‑spec exception reports with corrective and preventive action planning.
Key Results Areas
- Promote and support evidence based practice for all staff.
- Develop policies, procedures and guidelines to support the Quality Management System.
- Promote effective communication and disseminate information related to practice development.
- Facilitate acquisition of necessary skills, knowledge and competency by staff within the aseptic services unit.
Skills & Experience
- Relevant degree or Pharmacy Qualification.
- Substantial experience as a QA practitioner in Pharmacy manufacturing/aseptic services/technical services under an MHRA licence.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of national guidelines and legislation (Medicines Act, COSHH, GMP, Health and Safety).
