The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post: English and / or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. This post has been newly created to support Welsh Government and NHS Wales achieve key objectives for managing medicines efficiently and resourcefully across Wales. These objectives include centralised management of seasonal vaccinations (Influenza and Covid-19 booster programmes)and the development of a medicine buffer stockpile.

The activities within this rolewill be performed under the Wholesale Dealer Authorisation (H) Regulations. Thispost has been newly created to support Welsh Government and NHS Wales achievekey objectives for managing medicines efficiently and resourcefully across Wales. Theseobjectives include centralised management of seasonal vaccinations (Influenzaand Covid-19 booster programmes) and the development of a medicine bufferstockpile. The activities within this role will be performed under the Wholesale Dealer Authorisation (H) Regulations. The role will be based at NWSSP Medicine unitat Imperial Park 5 with a requirement to attend Picketston site (St Athan) to performstock maintenance and distribution activities on stored medicines include ControlledDrugs (CD's) vaccines and other prescription only medicines (POM)

Main duties of the job
  • Provide day to day administration support to the pharmacy procurement function,including stores, distribution and pharmacy goods-in areas.
  • Managing the electronic records of sales and finance reports to ensure they are current.
  • Lead on the processing of orders under a Wholesale Dealers Authorisation (WDA) to provide an efficient service to internal and external customers, patients, carers and otherhealthcare professionals.
  • Participate in the over labelling and pack down activitiesand co-ordinate transport / dispatch of customer orders via Health Courier Services(HCS) transport hub.
  • Plan and organise stock and equipment checks

Qualifications
  • A Level qualification or able to demonstrate the equivalent level if knowledge skills and experience.
  • Standard IT skills using software programmes including Microsoft Word and Excel, email and keyboard skills
  • RSA Typing stage III or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Procurement services or equivalent knowledge of pharmacy procurement
Experience
  • Admin/ clerical experience including filing and computer work.
  • Experience of working in a procurement / stock control function
  • Experience of providing customer service
  • Previous experience of working in the NHS
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations
