Job Description
  • Meal preparation and kitchen tasks.
  • Shopping and errands.
  • Provide companionship and support during outings.
  • Support during exercise and swimming.
  • Take appropriate actions if I experience a blackout or extended disassociation (ensuring safety, hygiene, finances, food, and household continuity).
  • Support with housework and administrative tasks.
  • Encourage and assist me in becoming more confident with day‑to‑day activities.
  • Help and support in and around the house.
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested.
Person Specification
Essential
  • The ideal candidate would require calming, reassuring, caring, and patience.
  • Understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of work, including total respect for my privacy.
  • Good memory and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Must hold a full, valid driving licence (so they can be added to my insurance and drive my car).
  • Willing to share driving duties when taking me out and about.
Desirable
  • Flexibility in working hours to accommodate the individual's needs.
  • Shared interests, good sense of humour and a good listener.
  • Understanding of neurodiversity, narcolepsy, CPTSD, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, and fatigue.
  • Experience supporting individuals with mental health and disabilities.
  • Mental health and first aid trained.
Summary Terms and Conditions

The pay rate for this position is £13.00 per hour for employed PAs and £15.69 per hour for self‑employed PAs.

Hours and times of work: 15 hrs per week, time discussed further at interview.

The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.

A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.

Satisfactory references from two referees, one of whom must be your current or last employer.

Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
