Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care, including 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and relevant frameworks.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.

ID Medical is proud to be partnering with a progressive residential care provider to recruit a Registered Manager for a brand-new children’s home in Derby. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and manage a service dedicated to supporting young people with complex needs and trauma backgrounds. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping a safe, nurturing, and high-quality environment where children and young people can thrive.

The Role

As the Registered Manager, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care in line with Ofsted and regulatory standards.
  • Lead, develop, and retain a skilled and motivated team.
  • Ensure the home achieves at least a “Good” Ofsted rating.
  • Develop bespoke care plans tailored to each young person’s needs.
  • Oversee budgets, compliance, and commercial performance.
  • Actively involve young people in shaping their care and daily life.
  • Build strong relationships with families, professionals, and external stakeholders.
About You
  • To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • At least 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care, including 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • To hold, or be willing to enrol on, the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, SCCIF framework, and Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
  • Proven leadership, safeguarding, and team development skills.
  • Experience of trauma-informed care and managing challenging behaviour.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
