People Administrator

Location: Hybrid – 3 days home, 2 days in office in Birmingham.

Shift Pattern: Monday‑Friday, 08:00–16:30.

Employment Type: Permanent.

Salary: £27,000k per annum.

Looking for a rewarding job that gives back to projects and organisations in local communities? We are working together with our client, a well‑established organisation within the Public Sector, to recruit a People Administrator. The role is hybrid, 3 days at home and 2 days in the Birmingham office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, family‑friendly activities, onboarding, and off‑boarding, ensuring all paperwork for starters and leavers and any changes to employees’ personal details and terms and conditions of employment is processed accurately and timely.
  • Exercise strong attention to detail, prioritise and manage high volumes of work, maintain quality and accuracy, and meet competing deadlines.
  • Support the People Team with note‑taking for meetings and employee relations cases, and maintain data in the HR system and employee files in line with the Data Protection Policy, ensuring information is kept up to date.
  • Be proactive, willing to challenge, and have the confidence to identify and recommend changes and improvements.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and be comfortable using your own initiative.
  • Proactively liaise with managers to obtain employee compliance documentation for recruitment, changes in terms and conditions, family‑friendly activities, onboarding, and off‑boarding.
Essential Criteria
  • Strong administrative experience, attention to detail, well organised, and able to work on own initiative.
  • Proven ability to manage own workload, handle multiple tasks and projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent teamwork, strong communication skills, and ability to build effective stakeholder relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to operate computerised database systems and experience with Microsoft Office – particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proven ability to accurately record meeting discussions and produce clear, concise minutes.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience providing administration support in an HR environment.
  • Experience using Itrent HR system.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, demonstrating integrity and ensuring compliance with GDPR.
