Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to join our Patient Pathway Coordinator team within the Ophthalmology service, CDC Lloyds Court, Milton Keynes. The ideal candidate will be able to manage conflicting priorities while providing administration support to two or more consultants. A clerical background in a health care environment would be beneficial. The role involves monitoring and managing patient pathways to ensure patients are seen within appropriate timeframes and receive the required appointments, while delivering excellent administration support. This service has complex pathways, so accuracy and organisation are essential. Effective communication and teamwork are essential. Interview w/c 13 October 2025. Responsibilities
  • Proactive coordination of patient pathways in accordance with national and locally defined policies and standards, including arranging relevant appointments and diagnostic tests, reviewing results, escalating to the relevant clinician or team, liaising with relevant departments, and ensuring MKUH systems are accurately updated.
  • Provide a comprehensive senior administration service to clinicians and teams within a designated specialty.
  • Support clinical and operational teams to deliver an efficient and effective outpatient service.
  • Set up outpatient clinics, including booking/cancelling rooms and assisting operational teams with clinic template arrangements.
