Job description

At New City College’s Epping Forest campus, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and inspiring environment where students can achieve their ambitions. We are now seeking a Pastoral Tutor to join us on a permanent, part‑time basis, working 28 hours across four days each week.

In this role, you will provide weekly group tutorials and one‑to‑one sessions that encourage learners to set goals, overcome challenges, and remain focused on their studies. You will work closely with teaching staff and support teams to monitor attendance, identify students who may be at risk, and ensure they receive the right support. Beyond academic progress, you will contribute to enrichment activities, promote wellbeing, and help to build a positive and inclusive campus culture that reflects the diverse community of Epping.

This permanent, part‑time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people while being part of a committed and supportive college team.

You bring strong communication and organisational skills, and you thrive in a collaborative environment. Whether you have experience in pastoral care, youth work, or education, you understand the importance of safeguarding, equality, and student wellbeing. • Financial Perks: Interest‑free loans for annual travel season tickets. Health cash plan (reimbursement for dental, optical, and therapy treatments) and a completely confidential Employee assistance programme.
  • Discounts: Save money on day‑to‑day expenses, shopping, dining out, DIY, and travel.
