Hawthorns School, Tameside – Permanent – SO2 (Full Year) – £37,280 - £39,152 per annum (Term time plus 5 days) – £31,885 - £33,486 pro rata.
36 hours 40 minutes per week, 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Hawthorns School is a successful and happy primary special school located in Hattersley, Tameside. All our pupils are primary age with an EHCP and have complex learning difficulties and Autism, or are on the pathway for diagnosis of autism.
Hawthorns School is part of New Bridge Multi-Academy Trust, a cluster of special schools, supporting the learning, social and pastoral needs of over 700 young people aged between 4 and 19 years.

We are seeking a committed, compassionate and highly organised Pastoral and Multi Agency Worker to join our school team and make a real difference to the lives of our pupils and families.
This key role sits within our safeguarding and pastoral structure, working closely with senior leaders, the Designated Safeguarding Lead, pastoral and SEND teams, and a wide range of external partners. The successful candidate will lead on Early Help Assessments, coordinate multi‑agency support and act as a trusted link between home, school and external services.
You will work directly with pupils and families to remove barriers to learning, improve attendance, promote wellbeing and strengthen engagement. This includes attending and contributing to TAC, EHA, Child in Need, Child Protection and Core Group meetings, making referrals to social care where appropriate, and maintaining accurate safeguarding and welfare records.
The role also has a strong focus on attendance, welfare and health. You will support daily attendance monitoring, first‑day calling and home visits, work proactively with families to improve attendance and punctuality, and contribute to whole‑school strategies around behaviour, wellbeing and inclusion. You will also coordinate health‑related support, liaise with medical professionals, maintain medical records and ensure care plans and training are in place.
This post will be subject to a number of pre‑employment checks including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and proof of right to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
