As we continue to expand our portfolio of fintech ventures, we are seeking an experienced Head of Legal (Part-Time, 3 days a week, £75k-£85k) to provide strategic legal leadership across our group, and own the end-to-end legal responsibility for the organisation.

This role is ideal for a senior legal professional with deep expertise in corporate and commercial law and risk management, who enjoys operating in fast-paced, innovative environments. You will work closely with executives, venture teams, and external partners to ensure we build exceptional products with strong legal, risk, and regulatory foundations.

About the Role

We’re looking for someone who will own the Legal Department, and hone it to fully support the business. Legal underpins our governance, risk and safety within the business. In this role, you will significantly impact the business, helping to rebuild our legal department from the ground up. This is an excellent opportunity for somebody to join a rapidly scaling company, own their department and how it’ll be shaped and implemented for the future.

You’ll be working to support a company at the forefront of fintech innovation and digital financial services, whilst enjoying a flexible, part-time role with significant strategic impact.

What you’ll be doing
  1. Legal Leadership & Strategy
  • Serve as the senior legal authority for the business, advising executives and stakeholders on legal, regulatory, and commercial risks across all 11:FS operations and ventures.
  • Develop and maintain the organisation’s legal strategy, policies, and risk frameworks aligned with the fintech industry.
  • Support board and governance functions across 11:FS and its ventures.
  1. Commercial Contracting
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including:
    • Client and consultancy contracts
    • Venture partnership and co-creation agreements
    • Software licensing and digital product contracts
    • NDAs, MSAs, and SOWs
    • Internally issued contracts, such as employment & contractor agreements with the help of the People & Business Operations team
  • Ensure all agreements support business objectives while protecting 11:FS’s commercial and IP interests.
  1. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
  • Provide expert guidance on regulatory matters relevant to fintech and digital financial services and data protection.
  • Systematic and diligence information governance, documentation and minuting
  1. Corporate Support
  • Lead or oversee legal workstreams, including:
    • Corporate structuring
    • Shareholder agreements and cap tables
    • Investment agreements
    • IP assignment and licensing
    • Company policy and process
  • Coordinate with external counsel when specialist or jurisdiction‑specific legal support is required.
  1. Risk Management & Governance
  • Identify and mitigate legal, compliance, and contractual risks across 11:FS projects.
  • Manage our Risk Management process and risk register
  • Maintain a robust legal governance framework, including contract management, dispute resolution, and compliance processes.
  • Support internal teams with training and guidance on legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Work with key business stakeholders to support the delivery of existing processes. As well as ensuring the processes are successfully executed, this will also include analysing and documenting these processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and iterative improvements in line with business objectives.
Skills/Experience
Skills to have:
  • Qualified lawyer with 7+ years PQE, including experience in leading a legal department.
  • Proven experience negotiating complex commercial contracts with enterprise clients.
  • Comfortable operating autonomously in a fast‑moving, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate legal requirements into practical business guidance.
  • Prepared to challenge the status quo and how things are done, always seeking improvement
  • Detail‑oriented, methodical and analytical
  • Process‑oriented but pragmatic with its implementation
  • Data‑driven and use data points to support hypotheses and decisions
  • Highly collaborative

The pay range for this role is:

75,000 - 85,000 GBP per year (11:FS Group Limited)
