A national membership body for financial services is seeking a Part-Time Finance Director. This unique role offers flexibility, with no fixed schedule and a focus on measured outputs. Responsibilities include leading financial strategy, overseeing budgets, and ensuring compliance. Candidates should be qualified accountants with significant commercial experience and strong interpersonal skills. This is a rare opportunity to balance a significant professional influence while meeting personal commitments.
We are proud to be working exclusively once again with the team at TISA – The Investment and Savings Alliance, to appoint a newly created role of Part–Time Finance Director.
TISA is the UK's leading cross–industry membership body for financial services, representing over 265 firms including HSBC, Legal & General, Aviva, JPMorgan, Prudential and many more. Its purpose is to improve the financial wellbeing of people across the UK, a mission that matters with financial stress remaining one of the biggest causes of poor mental health. By shaping regulation, developing consumer tools, and fostering collaboration, TISA helps people build financial resilience and in turn, supports better mental wellbeing.
The flexibility here is unlike most senior roles. While structured for around three days per week, there is no fixed pattern. One week may involve four or five days leading up to a Board meeting; the next week, very little may be needed. You are measured on outputs, not inputs, trusted to deliver what is required, when it is required. This means you can balance a role with significant influence alongside other professional or personal commitments.
At the same time, this is not a narrow remit. TISA is both a not–for–profit membership body and the parent of commercial subsidiaries pioneering work in digital identity and reporting. As Finance Director, you will oversee finances across both spheres, a rare blend of social mission and commercial innovation.
You will be a qualified accountant with significant commercial finance experience, ideally within limited–by–shares organisations. You bring strategic acumen, board–level gravitas, and the ability to simplify complexity. Just as importantly, you will have the interpersonal skills to engage confidently with senior stakeholders while supporting and developing a long–serving finance team. Integrity, independence, and self–motivation are essential, as is thriving in a culture built on trust and delivery rather than presenteeism.
We are managing this process exclusively on behalf of TISA. For a confidential discussion or to request the candidate pack, please contact Robyn at Paul Card Recruitment directly.
