Qualifications

  • Proven experience in either: Accident & Emergency, Primary Care environments or Minor injuries / illness.
  • Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment is ideal.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paramedic to join our Unscheduled Care Team at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, a category B Prison located in London.

In this role you will have the opportunity to provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients, without having to compromise on efficiency and quality.

Hours

The site currently offers a 24‑hour service.

Days: 07:30 – 19:45
Nights: 19:45 – 07:30

Predomin working days, night shifts will be required to cover sickness and annual leave. An expectation to work a maximum of 2 weekends per month is also required.

Salary

This position is full‑time, you will receive an annual salary up to £55,086 per annum – depending on experience.

Work Duties

As a Paramedic you attend response situations across the prison, assess patients and ensure that follow‑up care is implemented.

  • Provide outstanding evidence‑based case to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them – focussing on emergency and unplanned care to patients with both primary care and acute care needs.
  • Deliver non‑judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
  • Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s care following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.
