Job summary

A healthcare provider in Walsall is looking for a Dietitian to provide dietetic services to paediatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities
  • Provide dietetic input into paediatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including 1:1 and group clinics.
  • Deliver paediatric dietetic outpatient clinics, including special school clinics for children with complex feeding difficulties.
  • Plan and prioritise own workload as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Collect and analyse relevant data and recommend dietetic care within the caseload.
  • Translate and communicate disease states and diet to patients and carers so that it is understandable and empowering, using counselling, motivational and negotiation skills.
  • Communicate patient management to all relevant health professionals and carers.
  • Work as part of the multidisciplinary team, liaise with other professionals and attend meetings and case conferences.
  • Advise catering services on special diets and menu planning.
  • Maintain the service to meet department standards in accordance with the available evidence.
  • Undertake additional training as required to meet the needs of the post.
  • Have an active involvement in student training.
  • Deliver services in a flexible manner with regard to working hours and locations.
