Playworker

Hours: 20 hrs per week 7:30am to 8:45am then 3:15pm to 6pm (Temporary term time only).

Salary: FTE £25,185 (actual salary £11,458)

Scale: Grade 3 SCP 4

Location: Marlfields Primary School

Marlfields Primary School Lion Club is a friendly and popular Before and After School Club. We are looking to employ a play worker to support our team in providing quality care to our children. You will help with planning day‑to‑day organisation and operation of the club, providing high quality play opportunities and care for children in an inclusive environment and in accordance with the ethos of the school.

Main Purposes of Role
  • Assist with setting up the venue each day.
  • Assist with preparation of snacks as appropriate.
  • Assist with serving snacks as appropriate.
  • Assist with collecting children daily, making sure that they are happy and safe and welcomed into the Lion Club.
  • Help to create a welcoming and supportive environment for the children.
  • Assist with managing the behaviour of the children.
  • Assist with tidying the venue after use and ensuring secure storage of resources and equipment.
  • Plan and lead age‑appropriate activities for a group of children daily.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the post that may reasonably be required from time to time.
  • Assist in ensuring maintenance, cleanliness and safety of the environment.
  • Demonstrate and assist in the safe and effective use of specialist equipment/materials.
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, food hygiene, health, safety and security, administration, confidentiality, reporting all concerns to the designated safeguarding lead.
