A health services organization is seeking an Orthopaedic Technician Certified in Greater London, UK. This role involves assessing patients, developing care plans, and applying orthopaedic equipment like casts and splints. Ideal candidates should have completed a Licensed Practical Nurse program and an accredited education in orthopaedic technology. The position is part-time with the possibility of shifts across days, evenings, and weekends. Competitive salary ranges from $35.70 to $47.02 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
Reporting to the Manager of ER, Orthopaedic Tech Certified performs a care to patients in a fast-paced, high stress environment. You will assess patients (clients, resident), develop and implement care plans and monitor their progress. You will be responsible for various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions. You will collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes. You will provide training and assist health care providers in the use and care of equipment as well as educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment and treatments.
As an Orthopaedic Technician (Ortho Tech), you will apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints and traction equipment utilized in the care of orthopaedic patients (clients, residents). You will observe, monitor, report and document changes in the patient's physical, mental and emotional state, while providing safe and effective, quality care. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Completion of an accredited specialty Orthopaedic Technician program. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
