Job summary

A prominent healthcare institution in the UK is seeking an Optometrist Specialist to join their team. This full-time role (37.5 hours/week) mainly at Hull Royal Infirmary involves assessing patients in various ophthalmic settings and working alongside Optometry colleagues. Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Optometrist Specialist to work at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. The post is full time 37.5 hours per week, with variable hours and part‑time considered. The role is based mainly at Hull Royal Infirmary with other locations as required to meet the needs of the Optometry/Ophthalmology service within HUTH/NLAG.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment of patients in Ophthalmic Accident & Emergency, Medical Retina, Corneal, Refracting (Adults, Pediatrics and Research).
  • Clinical roles for Contact Lens and Ocular Prosthetic.
  • Possibly YAG/SLT laser clinics if appropriately qualified and trained.
  • Work alongside Optometry colleagues, expected to work autonomously and make complex decisions.
