Full-time 37.5 hrs per week.

Our Client is a well-known and growing organisation delivering outstanding patient care.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Optometrist at a Private Hospital in the Bristol area.

This role is a full-time position, working between our Clients two hospitals with the main hours being between Mon-Friday but there may be some requirement to work on a Saturday. There will also be on-call rota

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Outpatients Manager, you will be part of a small, forward-looking department with the latest ophthalmic equipment, including IOL Master 700 and the latest edition Humphrey Visual Field Analyser. Specialist areas offered include cataract surgery pathways, age related macular degeneration assessment and treatment pathways and ocular-plastic pathway. This role is ideal for someone who is keen to develop their skills by working alongside experienced Ophthalmic Consultants to deliver an outstanding Cataract Service for patients.

Our Client offers outstanding training for their Optometrists, so you can be an integral part of the patient's cataract pathway, to be able to 1st consultation appointment to list the patients for surgery, as well as to provide follow up and routine appointments for the Consultant led elective ophthalmic services.

What we're looking for in you
  • GOC registered Optometrist
  • Experience in the pre and post assessments of patients referred for refractive surgery
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic surgical care provision and knowledge of Ophthalmic disease
  • Be able to independently prescribe and have the skills to deliver first appointments on a cataract pathway.
