Job description
Overview

As a Construction Operative you will work under the Team Leader and support the safe and timely delivery of all projects undertaken by Veolia Construction. Plant operations will include operating excavator, dumper, and roller as required, and you will undertake construction, drainage, and potable water duties as directed.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake infrastructure works – predominantly drainage and water – on various sites (e.g. developer sites, secure military installations, on the highway within the public realm)
  • Maintain a personal level of technical competence (including training certification) to deliver the works safely
  • Operate excavator, dumper, roller, small tools, and electrofusion & butt fusion equipment as required
  • Participate in out‑of‑hours standby to support repair and maintenance of existing potable water networks
  • Take responsibility for personal safety and follow the safe system of work when undertaking activities
  • Maintain compliance with all health and safety legislation, policies and procedures
  • Have experience in drainage and/or potable water construction works
  • Hold CPCS/NPORS certification for excavator above and below 10T, dumper, and roller
  • Hold a full driving licence
  • Hold SHEA water and water hygiene qualifications
