Job Description

Operations Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to bring innovation and strong leadership to improve manufacturing operations at our critical plant. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role oversees all production operations and provides technical and process support.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Lead safety initiatives to foster a safety-conscious culture and ensure safe work practices across multiple production lines.
  2. Manage production and maintenance performance, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
  3. Drive continuous improvement using tools like Lean and Six Sigma.
  4. Monitor plant and department performance, identify improvement areas, and implement solutions.
  5. Manage and develop salaried and hourly staff.
  6. Promote a positive work environment through effective leadership and employee relations.
  7. Prepare and oversee annual budgets for production lines and assist with plant budget and capital projects.
  8. Support product development and ongoing improvement projects.
  9. Participate in leadership teams, including Safety and Lean Committees.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Oversee operational support team, including production supervisors and process engineers.
Travel:
  • Occasional travel for conferences, vendor meetings, etc.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • At least 10 years manufacturing experience in durable goods, with 5+ years in management.
  • Proven success in achieving operational goals.
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with innovative manufacturing systems.
  • Background in organization development and HR initiatives.
  • Business acumen in budgeting, assets, and cost management.
  • Ability to pass Ishihara and Farnsworth-Munsell color tests.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Lean certification.
  • SAP experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent organizational and teamwork skills.
