Operations Manager FMCG

Location: Enfield

Job Type: Permanent

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday: 7am - 4pm

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum & £6,500 car allowance & bonus

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our well-established client based in Enfield on a full-time permanent basis to manage a branch within the FMCG Sector.

Day-to-day duties

  • Reporting to the Area Operations Manager, the Branch Operations Manager will:
  • Oversee all branch operations ensuring customer service, delivery, technical support, and installations are delivered to high standards
  • Achieve KPIs including 95%+ on-time delivery rate, 40%+ NPS monthly, and 100% compliance on audits
  • Monitor and improve productivity across the team to ensure full daily route execution
  • Coordinate stock control and PO management, ensuring accuracy in stock counts, movement recording, and financial reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, customer satisfaction, and cost per delivery metrics
  • Maintain safety and compliance of the site, fleet, and operational practices, supporting the Health & Safety and Fleet teams
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with planning, supply chain, customer service, and sales teams
  • Handle customer complaints and NPS feedback, ensuring rapid resolution and service improvement
  • Ensure adherence to DVSA standards, maintain fleet records, and control related operating costs
  • Plan annual leave and staffing effectively to support seasonal business demands
  • Support warehouse or delivery activities when needed

Essential skills

  • Proven experience managing a logistics, warehouse, or branch operations team within FMCG industry
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to control budgets and improve cost efficiency
  • Sound understanding of service operations and planning systems
  • High attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Competent in monitoring compliance and health & safety

Desirable skills

  • Previous experience within UK logistics, delivery, or distribution sectors
  • Understanding of route planning, courier management, and fleet maintenance
  • Knowledge of ERP or route scheduling software
  • Familiarity with DVSA and industry standards
